Welcome to Far From the Show, a feature-based online publication covering minor league, independent, and overseas professional athletics (and it's all free!).

Here at "FFS" we are opinionated, knowledgeable, and above all passionate about sports. Many of us are former athletes (some of us still play the game). Some of us have competed at a very high level, and have a unique perspective on the world of sports. But we will not stroke the already overinflated egos of today's sports prima-donnas (Stuart Scott we are not). To paraphrase a writer of ours, we are not here to make the liars, cheaters, and lying cheaters of the game look good. What we are is real about the sports world: we tell it like we see it.

We're also dedicated to uncovering captivating stories about compelling athletes. Make no mistake, even in the age of steroids and scandals, there are still some really great stories out there; you just have to look a little harder, dig a little deeper, and perhaps venture a little farther from the bright-lights to find them.
